The Honeymoon

So I figure it's getting about time to post these :)

It's only been two months.....

So to start with, here is the gorgeous ocean view from our hotel room. Though it was a little extra, like ten more bucks a night, I felt it was totally worth it. Opening the curtains to this every day was amazing!

This is a picture with the amazing zoom on Mike's camera. I actually took this from the hotel window.

After enjoying the view we took a walk down the gorgeous beach!

As we were walking around downtown Waikiki a guy had these two parrots and asked if we wanted to take our pictures with them. So he put them up on our heads and took some cool pictures and then asked us for whatever money we could give him. Well maybe he should have asked before hand, cuz we only had 3 bucks in cash on us. He was pissed and stalked off angrily, but oh well, should've asked us first

We found this cool little restaurant called the Puka Dog. It was like eating a hot dog but it was in a giant roll with a hold poked in it. And they had tons of way cool toppings. I had mango relish on mine :) I can't believe we didn't take a picture of them! But they were so gooooooood!!

And then we walked down to the aquarium and they just had these amazing trees everywhere. They were just huge and had those big roots growing down from the limbs.

So at the aquarium (which was only 8 bucks to get in and I loved it!) there were some really cool exhibits. But my favorite was that right outside the aquarium there were some ceramic pieces by Jun Kaneko!! I love his work! :) :) This was my favorite one of the ones that were there

They had this really cool Nautilus, which was amazing because I had never seen a live one, just their cool shells.

While walking around the International Market Place we came across a place selling coconuts so of course, I had to have one :) So when I ordered one, they just pull it out of the fridge, chop the top off and stick a straw in it. I loved it

And that necklace I'm wearing was my favorite thing that Mike bought me on the trip :) :) :)

So this trip was everything that we wanted it to be. A special, once in a lifetime opportunity full of such amazing things :)

Some Cuties

So I know you guys are dying for some Honeymoon pics, but I'm going to be obnoxious and post some cute pictures of my adorable nephews instead :)

Here is Jackson in the practice run when he is trying on his cute little tux. He is being very very good because he keeps being told he is getting lots of toys if he's good while in the tux :)

And here he is surrounded by all the bug toys that Mike and I bought for our little ring bearer.

Even Nolan and James were enjoying all the toys. And Jackson was letting them too!!

Swimming with Sharks

So the Tuesday morning that Mike and I were on Oahu we did our craziest thing on the honeymoon and went swimming with sharks. Well it all started out with the craziest driver that we ever had! To start off, he picked up the wrong couple cuz he didn't even ask for names. Luckily we got it straightened out and were then on our way. He was driving like crazy! Going 80 in a 55 and weaving through traffic. One of the girls going was so car sick by the end of the drive that she didn't even get to go on the boat :(

Once we got on the boat we headed out to where they had the Cage anchored about three miles off shore.

Now it wasn't like they chummed the water or fed the sharks or anything like that to attract the sharks to the boat. They didn't want them in a feeding frenzy, which makes me feel better. What happens is that the crab fisherman fish out there and toss their extras over the side of the boat. So the sharks have learned to follow boats by the sound of the motors and then on our boat they were using just a little bobber and using it slap the water which was keeping the sharks interested.

So from the surface it looked like there was two sharks and not too big.

In that picture you can see the fin slicing through the water heading for the little red bobber in front. And to the side you can see the people that were in the first group.

So then it was time to jump into the cage and have a look underwater for ourselves.

Not gonna lie, I totally freaked out!! It was a lot scarier underwater. Took me a few minutes to calm down and then it was just magical under there watching them just glide through the water. There were about 6 Galapagos Sharks ranging in length from 5 to 11 feet.

So I really really LOVE all these amazing pictures that we got with just the little disposable underwater camera! Meaning that there are still several more pictures to come :) This was just such an amazing adventure!

Then we had probably the biggest shark that was there swim right under the cage, which was so amazing!
